My Urban Garden

This summer, I moved to a new apartment, in the Union Square/East Village. After walking through the Greenmarket a number of times each week, I was inspired to create my own "locally-grown" produce. The new apartment has a 5'X1.5' concrete windowsill, and Southern exposure for about 8 hours a day. Ideal for a garden. Being a townie, and never having grown anything in my life, nor had a backyard, I figured I should start small, and go with some herbs. I subsist mainly on Caprese salad during the summer months, so basil was a natural choice.

(more to come...)
